The flagship fine dining venue is the product of an exciting partnership between The Celtic Manor Resort and Michelin star South Wales restaurant, The Crown at Whitebrook. The site is the latest microsite for the Celtic Manor Resort, produced by web site design company VSI-thinking, adding to the dedicated Wales Open web site. The award-winning chef James Sommerin, who achieved the coveted accolade in 2007 and has retained it for 2008, is the Executive Chef for both restaurants, creating separate and distinctive menus for each establishment. An atmospheric private lounge with its own bar and comfortable sofas, provides the perfect place to meet up and relax before lunch or dinner. In the evenings, guests can linger over the menu and enjoy a pre-dinner drink or cocktail while complimentary canapés are served.
Just 5 miles from Monmouth in the beautiful Wye Valley and set in 5 acres of tranquil, landscaped gardens. The Crown at Whitebrook is a haven from the stresses of modern day life. As one of Wales' first restaurant with rooms it offers eight luxurious bedrooms and a stylishly comfortable restaurant. The Crown has often been lovingly described as a romantic auberge. The restaurant on the ground floor is at the heart of the establishment and is one of only two restaurants in the whole of Wales to boast a coveted Michelin Star thus making it a perfect haven for food lovers. The Crown is a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding Wye Valley and other areas of outstanding natural beauty such as the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains, Tintern Abbey on the river Wye and the famous Offa’s Dyke path.
