Blog

The last Greens of Southern Wales site had been live for nearly 2 years, and with the web moving forward so rapidly, they have asked VSI-thinking for a fresh look at their site, whilst incorporating some new technologies and improved web features.

The site has had a complete redesign, and moved to our latest web site framework, which includes search engine optimisation and a content management system. The site also now uses a rotating header banner, which slowly fades in and out pictures of selected golf courses. This banner is completely controlled by the Greens of Southern Wales team, allowing them to update the pictures whenever they would like to change the look of their site.

Using our proven Content Management System, Greens of Southern Wales can update the site whenever a new golf course or hotel is added. This will improve the Greens of Southern Wales search engine rankings, as they can update the website as often as they can. With the CMS there is also the ability to fine tune the pages by modifying the Description and Keywords for each page. These are items which visitors will not see, but are as equally important. These little extras within the Content Management System can be changed, so that they can target a specific audience in the search engines.

The Greens of Southern Wales have also decided to invest in another marketing tool called Pay Per Click advertising. Pay Per Click advertising works by first of all bidding for keywords associated with your site. Keywords can be bought from as little as 1p. Once the account has been set-up with the relevant keywords, and advertisement, then your adverts will start to appear. When a user searches within a search engine and uses one of your keywords, then the add will appear under sponsored links. The only time you will pay for an advertisement is when a user clicks on the advertisement and is taken to your site. This is a more effective form of advertising compared to advertising in telephone directories, newspapers and magazines, as you only pay for advertising to people who are interested in your product or service.

With their new site up and running ready for the Ryder Cup 2010, we hope that they can take some bookings for enjoyable golfing holidays in South Wales.
