The PCI Security Standards Council is an open global forum for the ongoing development, enhancement, storage, dissemination and implementation of security standards for account data protection. The PCI Security Standards Council's mission is to enhance payment account data security by driving education and awareness of the PCI Security Standards. The organization was founded by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa, Inc.
Is it Required?
Many eCommerce sites require proof of PCI compliance if the merchant accepts credit cards. Fines and deadlines for non-compliance vary depending on the Acquiring Bank and credit card companies you accept.
Who Approves Us?
The Payment Card Industry (PCI) requires sofware vendors and others who develop payment credit applications that store, process, or transmit card data as part of authorisation or settlement to have a detailed security assessment by a Payment Application Qualified Security Assessor (PA-QSA). The purpose of the assessment is to validate that the software or application is handling data in accordance with the Payment Application Data Security Standards (PA-DSS). Our PA-QSA is the industry leader Security Metrics.
