Many purchasers of new smartphones are now opting for Google's Android operating system over Apple's iOS. A recent Nielsen survey has shown that in the months leading up to August 56% of American buyers chose an Android handset; 28% of buyers chose an iPhone running iOS.

A recent survey has found that almost 50% of UK internet users go online through their mobile phone data connections, this is an increase of nearly 15% over 2010's survey.
