Over the festive period it's all too easy for some of us to gain some weight and get a little bigger, but it seems webpages are heading the same way as the average file size of a webpage is now 965 kilobytes, a growth of around 33% from last year's figure of 726 kilobytes.

A Design Council survey found that for every £100 spent on design, companies realised an increase in turnover of £225.
A business that increases its investment in design is more than twice as likely to see its turnover grow than a business that does not.
Two thirds of companies who ignore design have to compete mainly on price. In companies where design is integral, just one third do so.
